OVERVIEW:
Join us for the seventh annual Software Defined Radio (SDR) University Challenge Showcase, hosted by Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), on April 25, 2025, at the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI), Daniel J. Curran Place, 1700 South Patterson Blvd, Dayton, OH 45409, USA – Conference Room: Marshall Room N1840.
The SDR University Challenge aims to enhance technology portfolios and attract the next generation workforce in SDR technology, which is crucial for communication, sensing, and networking applications, allowing for software upgrades to enhance wireless devices. This year, 20 university teams from across the U.S. participated, with several teams receiving an SDR kit from National Instruments to design and prototype an SDR application.
The 8 finalist teams have been invited to the Final Showcase in Dayton, where their prototypes will be judged by SDR experts. The event will culminate in an awards presentation on April 25, with up to $10,000 in prizes awarded. The public is welcome to attend the finalist teams’ presentations, in-person demonstration and awards ceremony on Friday, April 25, from 9:00am to 1:00pm (EDT). This hybrid event is free, but pre-registration is mandatory.
